This charming luxury home is located right at the gate of the Buda Castle. Just 3 minutes from the city centre of the Buda side of town, Moszkva Square, it is the ideal apartment to rent for a unique short-term Budapest vacation rental experience. Hip and spacious, this 3 bedroom apartment with views to the Vienna Gate and the Castle comfortably sleeps a family or a group of friends, up to 5 adults.

The flat is located on the top (3rd) floor of a building with an elevator. Open and airy, it is furnished for comfort and coziness in warm, rich hues, with many of its features having been sourced from South-East Asian travels of the owners. Some really nice original artwork and photography adorn the walls of this stylish flat.

The vacation apartment is ideally situated just a short walk from Moszkva tér and the famous Fény street food & produce market where you can get fresh ingredients for a tasty meal prepared at home. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave, 4 burners, and coffee maker and everything you will need to cook and entertain. The dining table will seat up to 8 comfortably. Just past the counter, the kitchen opens onto the dining area and the living space with its decorative, working fireplace and couches you just want to sink into. Flooded with light from the living room windows and a French step out balcony one really feels tucked up and away from the busy streets below.

The quiet master bedroom comes with a king size bed, and the room next door offers two large twin beds that can be used as a double bed too. Both bathrooms have antique tiles throughout, the master bathroom comes with a big bathtub as well as a built shower, toilet and bidet. There is an internal window letting through natural light from the master bedroom to the bathroom. The 3rd bedroom is a single with ensuite bathroom, at the other end of the hallway, ideal for a granny or babysitter coming along with the family, offering comfort and a bit of privacy as well. There is a half bathroom with sink and toilet also opening from the hallway.

Ostrom utca is one of the streets leading up to the Castle district from the busy and lively Moszka Tér. The street ends at the beautiful Vienna Gate through which you enter the historic Buda Castle with its charming houses, cobbled streets, shady walkways and astonishing views. Moszkva tér is the most important transportation hub of Buda with the M2 (red) metro line station and the start of the longest tram lines driving through the city centre: Line 4 and 6. Either with the subway or by these trams it takes between 10 to 20 minutes to get to the centre of town: to Deák Tér or Oktogon. There are many other bus and tram lines starting from here including the Castle Bus, and buses to the Buda Hills.

The area is great for shopping. Within 5 minutes you can find a great food and produce market, the biggest in Buda: the Fény Street market, open every day except Sundays, with fresh farmer’s products and all kinds of food stores. The Mammut Shopping Malls (2 malls built together) offer many international brands for clothes and accessories, as well as a large organic store and a supermarket, a drugstore, plenty of restaurants and cafés, book stores, beauty saloons, banks, a gym and many more.

Apart from the many different kinds of restaurants and eateries you may find in Mammut Malls and on the Fény Street market let us draw your attention on a couple of gems and personal favorites you can find in the neighborhood. Next door to your hip home is the famous Arany Kaviar (Golden Caviar) restaurant with the best and largest selection of caviars and other culinary delights including flavored vodka specialities from Russia. It is a real treat to have dinner here, ideal for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries. (www.aranykaviar.hu)

Café Pierrot is a long time favorite of the locals, mainly the artist community living in the Castle district. Good food and the romantic atmosphere are the main reasons for this. It is in Fortuna street 14., about 5 minutes walk from your door. It is open every day from 11 am till midnight.

21 is a fairly new, but very successful restaurant of the Castle with traditional Hungarian cuisine in a more contemporary style – very tasty but a little less shocking to your cholesterol level. It is also on Fortuna street, number 21. It is open every day from 11 am till 12 pm. (www.21restaurant.hu)

Ruszwurm Confectionery is amongst of the wonders of the Buda Castle. It is one of the oldest sweet shops of the city offering delicious sweet and savory pastries. Their trademark is the Ruszwurm Cream Pastry – it is certainly something not to miss out when wandering in the old streets of Castle. It is very near to Matthias Church in Szentháromság street 7. For both young and old the district’s favorite hang out place is the Millenáris Park offering plenty of entertainment and leisure programs from infants to elderly, all year around. Two concert and exhibition halls, the Palace of Wonders, two playgrounds, ponds with gold fishes and shady benches, fairs and festivals are awaiting visitors and locals. It is just behind Mammut Malls, within 10 minutes walk from you. (www.millenaris.hu)
