Holidaymakers and corporate travelers alike will enjoy this tasteful and newly renovated flat located in the heart of Buda, at the bottom of the green and chic Rose Hill. The proximity of the historic Buda Castle district, the Millenáris Cultural Centre and Leisure Park give it a good local vibe.
This charming and bright one-bedroom luxury apartment is on the 6th (top) floor of a classical building with elevator. With large windows the vacation apartment benefits from the morning sun and unobstructed views of the ornate tile rooftop of the National Archives of Hungary and the Buda Castle hill. The architect owner's skillful renovation and design maximizes space and comfort, all the while retaining original features. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the sitting room has a sofa bed that may sleep one adult very comfortably, so the apartment can accommodate a couple or 3 adults, or even a small family with children (travel cot available). The full bathroom is complete with a bathtub and a washer/dryer machine. A beautiful, white open kitchen in the living room is fully equipped with an electric stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher and cooking utensils. The dining table can comfortably seat four.
Other features include a flat screen television with cable (including movie channels), high speed wireless Internet and an iPod docking station.
The apartment is in a building in between Fillér and Lövőház streets in a really nice and civil neighborhood with great traffic. With a 3 minutes walk you are at Moszkva tér that is the most important transportation hub of Buda with the M2 (red) metro line station and the start of the longest tram lines driving through Budapest’s city centre along the Ring Boulevard: Line 4 and 6. Either with the subway or by these trams it takes between 10 to 20 minutes to get to the centre of town: to Deák Tér or Oktogon.
There are many other bus and tram lines starting from here including the Castle Bus, and buses to the Buda Hills.
The wonderful Fény street food and produce market is within a short walk. It is open every day except Sundays, with fresh farmer’s products and all kinds of food stores. The Mammut Shopping Mall complex offers many international brands for clothes and accessories, as well as a large organic store and a supermarket, a post office, a drugstore, plenty of restaurants and cafés, book stores, beauty saloons, banks, a gym and many more.
In the nearby streets leading to the Vienna Gate and in the Buda Castle there are great restaurants such as the fantastic Golden Caviar or the Michelin star contender 21 Restaurant. Luckily, one of the nicest wine shop, the flag store of The Wine Society is also on the way there with its best selection of Hungarian and international wines and Hungary’s famous Palinkas.
For both young and old the district’s favorite hang out place is the Millenáris Park offering plenty of entertainment and leisure programs from infants to elderly, all year around. Two concert and exhibition halls, the Palace of Wonders, two playgrounds, ponds with gold fishes and shady benches, fairs and festivals are awaiting visitors and locals. It is just behind the Mammut complex, within 10 minutes walk from you. Next to Millenáris is another, smaller park with various sports facilities. It is the Marczibányi Sports Centre with a squash and table tennis hall, tennis courts and a small running track. There is also a fitness and wellness area and it is open from 6 am till 11 pm every day.
